Lighthouse of Care
Chavara Social Eyes is the school’s exclusive social service initiative inspired by the life and vision of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, nurturing compassion, generosity, and social responsibility among students. Every academic year, through term-wise and annual contributions—especially during the season of giving in December—students wholeheartedly contribute to the school social service fund. Food kits and essential grocery items are collected, carefully packed, and personally distributed by students during visits to the homes of the underprivileged. During the winter season, blankets are also provided to street dwellers to help them stay warm. As part of continuous outreach, students frequently visit various CMI social service institutions and care centres for the elderly, the differently abled, and orphaned children, including Akashaparavagal, Karimba; Alphonsa Bhavan; and Karunayilam, Koundampalayam. These visits go beyond material assistance, offering students meaningful interaction, empathy, and a deeper understanding of human dignity. Through Chavara Social Eyes, students are shaped into socially conscious individuals who see society with compassion and respond with action.
